What is Returners Online?

Returners Online is a sandbox fantasy MMORPG where you can get summoned into fantasy worlds as a hero of your choice and fight against gods and their spawns.

When is Returners Online coming out?

The game is currently in Alpha phase development. The first playtest is scheduled to be in 2027, followed by a Beta phase after a number of play tests.

Will Returners Online be free to play?

Yes the base game will be free to play. There may be optional paid content in the future, but the core game will always be accessible for free.

Will Returners Online be pay to win?

The game is made by a team of gamers who are passionate about creating a fun and engaging experience for players. No pay to win mechanics will be added to the game. Full disclosure: while it is controversial among the community, there may be a pay to progress mechanic instead, but it will be designed in a way that does not give paying players an unfair advantage over non-paying players. The game will be balanced to ensure that all players have a fair and enjoyable experience regardless of whether they choose to spend money or not.

Will Returners Online have a monthly subscription?

Returners Online is having open development and the team is still deciding on the best monetization strategy for the game. Based on community feedback, and development costs there might be a monthly subscription or some world maps will be sold separately (while offering free maps), but the core game will always be free to play and there will be no pay to win mechanics.
