Gods and Abyssal Gods in Returners Online are S rank world rulers that players can interact with and receive blessings or curses from. Gods are located at the highest floor of roads of Ascension and Descent.

Each summoned world has two ruling powers:

Each god has their own domain, attribute (main power). Players can craft hero relics which are then blessed/cursed by gods when players get summoned to another world or go into battle arenas. Curses are given if a player loses a trial against a god or if a player chooses a forbidden blessing which comes with a binding curse that activates whenever the blessing is used. Curses do not expire and can only be removed by spending favor at an altar in the summoned world sunctuary.

Defeating gods in a trial grants players a massive wisdom reward towards the “god slayer” title which is the highest title in the game which can be mastered (levelled up) by defeating more gods in roads of Ascension and Descent. Losing a duel with a god results in a full equipped gear loss.
